John (Will Arnett) and Dean (Will Forte) are two sheltered happy-go-lucky brothers who want nothing more than to please their ailing father (Lee Majors). Deciding a grandson will do the trick, the clueless boys set out to find a woman who can give them a baby. Finding Janine (Kristen Wiig) on Craigslist, the brothers find the woman of their dreams, artificially inseminating her and spending the next nine months on a roller coaster of life, facing romantic and parental challenges along the way that are no match for their sunny attitude.
The film was a box office bomb grossing only $900,926 out of a $10 million budget. Reviews were overwhelmingly negative, and on At the Movies with Ebert & Roeper, Richard Roeper claimed he walked out of the film—something he had never done before. On Rotten Tomatoes the film received a 16 out of 100 based on 68 reviews.[1] On Metacritic the film received a 32 out of 100 based on 17 reviews.
